Arven supports the Shetland Valkyries in their continued success

As the Shetland Valkyries secure their sixth consecutive Caledonia North league title, Arven is proud to support their continued success as official kit sponsors for the upcoming season.

The team’s name and identity are inspired by Norse mythology, aligning with Arven’s connection to Norse heritage. The name “Arven,” meaning “heritage” or “legacy” in Norwegian, pays tribute to Shetland’s rich Norse history, with the Norse rune for “energy” featured in the logo as a symbol of this deep-rooted link.

Beyond the symbolic connection, the Valkyries’ success on the field and their determination to break barriers in a traditionally male-dominated sport make them a natural fit for Arven. The team is guided by a respected coaching team whose leadership has contributed to the Valkyries’ continued recognition, including receiving the Shetland Sports Coach of the Year award.

Aaron Priest, Stakeholder Manager at Arven, said:
“We’re proud to support the Shetland Valkyries as their kit sponsor. This partnership not only champions women’s sport in Shetland but also allows us to support an inspiring team whose values align with those of our project. We look forward to watching the Valkyries continue to thrive in the season ahead.”

Arven’s sponsorship demonstrates its commitment to creating opportunities in Shetland. Over the past year, the project has supported several local community initiatives, including Sail Training Shetland and The Wood Foundation’s Youth Philanthropy Initiative in all of Shetland’s secondary schools.
